Theaters of Los Angeles / Vista Theater Print
The Vista Theatre opened in Los Feliz in 1923 as the Lou Bard Playhouse, playing Tips, starring Baby Peggy. The Spanish Mission-style structure was built on a former set of D.W. Griffith’s Intolerance. The Vista is famous for its own exhibit of celebrity cement handprints and footprints – with a decidedly more indie twist than Grauman’s. They include Kenneth Anger, Spike Jonze, Sally Kirkland, John C. Reilly, the cast and crew of Swingers, Showgirls, and many more.
